Summary
An early quarto King James Bible in black letter type. Complete and very clean Bible text with title pages rebound in modern calf. A nice She Bible with the Book of Common Prayer, Genealogies, Map, Tables, and Psalter bound in.
Description
The Book of Common Prayer complete without title page. General title page (1613) engraved within woodcut border comprising twenty-four compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. Title is enclosed within a heart-shaped frame. Both titles omit the words “Appointed to …” The Genealogies by J[ohn] S[peed] with title page (n.d.) is complete without map. Text in two column black letter, closely following the errors in the first edition. Ruth 3:15 with the reading “And she went into the citie.” Apocrypha included as issued. New Testament title page (1614) with verso blank. Concludes with colophon (1614). Bound with Two right profitable and fruitful Concordances with title page (1615) by R.F.H. Also bound with The Whole Booke of Psalmes with title page (1617). Numerous woodcut first chapter initials and head- and tailpieces throughout.

A^8, A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa-SSS^8. Complete with both title pages.
Binding
Recently rebound in a modern gilt-paneled brown mottled calf. Spine with five raised bands and gilt tooling to compartments with “Holy Bible” lettered in gilt. Plain endpapers.
Condition
Unusually clean and bright text throughout. First 6 ff. of BCP with small lower corner marginal loss; T6 lower corner margin clipped; small stain to final leaf of Bible text; small lower marginal stain to Psalter with final leaf slightly frayed with scribbles to margin to recto. “This book was New-Bound by Hall and Bradenth April 1795 on verso of title page of Psalter.
