A nicely red-ruled King James Bible with red-ruled text in two-column Roman font. Housed in a contemporary English Restoration binding with silver metal corners.
Description
General title page (1660) with architectural border featuring David playing the Harp and the royal arms. Text in two column Roman font and ruled in red throughout. Without Apocrypha as issued. New Testament title (1660) within woodcut border and center ornament. Several manuscript leaves are bound in at the front and back of the volume containing sermon notes and prayers.

A-Z^8, Aa-Zz^8, Aaa^4. Complete.
Binding
Contemporary black calf with gilt panels to boards. Panels surrounded by gilt-rolled borders and corner fleurons. Blind tooled flowers and berries surround the center design. Silver cornerpieces. Spine with six raised bands and faded gilt-tooling to compartments. Marbled endpapers.
Condition
Rubbed with hinges starting to split but volume remains intact and solid. Top and bottom of spine chipped. Some thumbsoiling to edges. Text is crisp, clean, and bright.
