Description
The Book of Common Prayer begins with B3 of the Collects. The Genealogies with printed title page by J[ohn] S[peed] with map. The general title page (1615) engraved within woodcut border comprising twenty-four compartments showing the tents of the twelve tribes as well as the figures of the twelve apostles. Title is enclosed within a heart-shaped frame. Text in two column Roman font. Apocrypha included as issued. New Testament title page (1615) with border like the general title. Concludes with colophon (1615) and tailpiece. Bound with The Whole Booke of Psalmes with title page (1616) featuring a decorative woodcut border. Various woodcut first chapter initials and head- and tailpieces.

Contemporary brown polished calf. Boards with double blind-paneled design with corner fleurons. Spine with four raised bands.

Rubbed and scuffed to edges; joints starting and cords holding; head and foot of spine chipped; first two ff. of BCP frayed; Genealogies title page chipped with tear; first two ff. of Genealogies with loss; left half of double-page map lost; general title with piece torn from upper and lower corner reducing woodcut border; A1-3, Ff8, Bbb2, Ccc4, Yy5,7 with loss to text; title page of Psalter with annotation bleeding through.
