EXQUISITE GENUINE 430 YEAR OLD GENEVA "BREECHES" BIBLE IMPRINTED AT LONDON BY  CHRISTOPHER BARKER PRINTER TO THE QUEENS  MAIEFTIE 1587 - QUARTO EDITION MEASURES 9" x 7" x 3" thick overall.
This is the first complete Geneva Bible printed with Tomson's revised translation of the New Testament, which became the standard for future Geneva Bibles.

Complete Bible text with ALL titles (general title, title to the second part and New Testament titke), just like it was when it was first published and purchased in 1587 in England: Engraved title pages, preliminaries, the complete set of engravings/illustrations and maps, various woodcut initials and colophons. Also bound with  an extensive two-table concordance in the back and metric Psalter with musical bars (with title 1637, contains all Psalms and Hymns, lacks some of the prayer pages at the end)
VERY GOOD condition - Professionally rebound in new period style leather covers with exquisite blind stamps decorations - you can use and read this Bible daily without concerns. General title repaired, various smaller faults throughout. The Bible is complete except for one page in the preliminaries (table of content). Fair to good margins all around. paper cleaner than usual in these 1500s Bibles. A rare find of a rare Bible!
