Villerius Englished by L. TOMSON Together with the Annotations of

GENEVA Bible, known as 'The Breeches Bible'. Junius' notes on
Revelation were added, in 1599, replacing the original notes.
General title with woodcut device, OT & NT title within woodcut
border comprising multiple compartments, woodcut maps and numerous
engravings/illustrations, vignettes, decorations and initials.
Overall VERY GOOD conditon.
Contemporary full sheepskin, sometime rebacked with plain spine,
this clearly very old also. Slight cracking rear joint, board
attached. Lacks front blank endpaper. There is scattered spotting
and browning to the text, some very old ownership inscriptions and
doodles, occasional marginal staining, some marginal notes trimmed
close to a few leaves, one or two marginal tears, tear to gutter
margin of p99 NT, General title and prelims sl frayed, OT title and
first leaf edge chipped, one leaf of tables corner chipped with
minor loss. Several maps and engravings in the text. Overall this is
a very well used copy with marginal flaws, tears and browning but
overall a Good copy. Apart from the blank front endpaper it is
complete and there are no really major faults. This is one of the
many variations of Barker's "1599" Geneva Bible with Thomson's New
Testament but Junius's Revelation.
