A church book size COMPLETE Netherlands - Dutch
Church Book / Bible
from 1839 in a WELL PRESERVED condition. It has an original full
dark cloth cover with a large (original, intricate and quite
heavy) silver closing clasp.
This book - intended to be
brought to and used in church ('bijbel met zilverwerk')- contains the complete text of the
Bible - New Testament ('Statenvertaling - State Bible')
and is bound with "het Boek der Psalmen" (book
of psalms), with all Biblical psalms set to music and "Nevens
de
Gezangen bij de Hervormde Kerk van Nederland", a collection of
hymns used in the Netherlands Reformed Churches printed in 1840. The
last section of this Bible/Church Book contains a Catechism (Catechismus
of the Netherlands Reformed Churches)
The Bible's binding, spine are in good working working order (handle
with care, it is getting weak). All pages are present and in a
very good condition. Clean pages. Fully functional original large
silver clasp.
